For as long as I can remember my grandma has smoked a pack a day. In this article I found it compares and contrasts the life of a smoker and non smokers life and also shows us what a smokers lung looks like compared to a non smoker. It also points out interesting facts that we might not have considered when thinking about smoking and all the negative affects it can have on our body and even our appearance. One thing that really stood out to me in this article was the amount of lives that smoking takes each year.

Its kind of crazy that people still smoke when it is restricted in so many places including bars, restaurants, and even some parks. And yet when the price of cigarettes is unbelievably high in NY, NY people still buy them and deal with all kinds of obstacles just so they can smoke.
ReplyDeleteinteresting observation
DeleteNow, I agree with you here on how shocking it is to see how many lives are taken by smoking each year. You could even multiply the total by the families and friends involved. I have seen the loss of physical ability and the degeneration in appearance and it is so sad. My grandfather actually passed away due to throat and lung cancer, which were aided by his consumption of cigarettes sadly. It was horrible finding him in his state of despair continuing on with this habit that he couldn't stop!
